What are the gift vouchers?
- A professionally produced voucher presented to the purchaser in a card wallet along with a list of participating businesses (ie where the voucher can be spent!)
- Vouchers are in denominations of €20, €50 & €100
- Security measures are used in the vouchers to reduce risk of fraud
- Purchased from Athlone Credit Union / Athlone Chamber Offices
- Vouchers are valid in all participating businesses (retail, commercial, health & leisure etc.)
- This ATGV scheme is designed to reduce spend leakage to shopping locations outside of Athlone and to attract new spend locally.

How do the vouchers work?
- The person seeking to buy a gift voucher can do so from either Athlone Credit Union or Athlone Chamber office.
- Minimum voucher purchase is €20
- Vouchers are sold at face value, no charges or commissions are charged. So if you would like to buy a voucher for €50 it will cost just €50.
- The voucher will be presented to the purchaser in a professional card wallet along with a list of participating businesses – where the voucher can be spent.
- Vouchers are in denominations of €20, €50 and €100.€20, €50 and €100
- The holder of a voucher can spend the value of that voucher in any participating business.
- If the value of the goods purchased does not exceed the value on the voucher, the consumer is entitled to change in cash.
- If the value of the goods exceeds the value on the voucher the consumer must make up the balance.

Athlone Chamber’s Role
- To administer the scheme in conjunction with Athlone Credit Union
- To sell in bulk to companies (Athlone Credit Union will sell to general public)
- The general marketing of the voucher scheme
- To reimburse retailers when vouchers are presented
- To maintain a listing of participating businesses
