The Fatted Calf Restaurant is located in the centre of Athlone town on Church St. Feargal, with over 40 years of experience in the catering industry, worked in London, Belfast, and Dublin before settling in Athlone in 1998. He always had a vision of opening his own restaurant, which he realized with his wife, Fiona, in 2010.
The Fatted Calf has always focused on using seasonal Irish ingredients from local producers for their innovative menus. Fiona and her front-of-house team provide customers with the best dining experience.
For over 20 years, Feargal has partnered with the multi-award-winning John Stone Irish beef, known for its highest standard of 30-day dry-aged beef, which keeps our customers coming back for more! This beef pairs perfectly with wines from our local supplier, Wines Direct, creating a match made in heaven!
