Midlands Business Summit 2026
The Midlands Business Summit, hosted by Athlone Chamber in collaboration with TUS, is a flagship regional event bringing together business leaders, innovators and professionals from across the Midlands for a morning of insight, collaboration and forward-thinking discussion.
Taking place in Mary Ward Centre, TUS Athlone, the summit provides a platform for meaningful engagement between industry and academia, showcasing leadership perspectives and exploring key themes shaping the future of business in the region.
The programme opens with networking and registration, followed by a welcome address from Prof. Vincent Cunnane, President of TUS and Ms. Regina Bushell.
Attendees will hear a keynote address from Martin McVicar, CEO and Co-founder of Combilift Ltd, offering insights into leadership, innovation and global business growth. This will be followed by a panel session featuring Aoife Beirne, CEO of Mergon Group and Dr. John MacNamara, Head of Corporate Sustainability at Bord na Móna, providing expert perspectives on industry, sustainability and economic development.
The event will also include interactive round table discussions, a panel Q&A session, and opportunities for attendees to engage directly with speakers and peers throughout the morning. Closing remarks will be delivered by Seadna Ryan, Dean of Business and Hospitality at TUS Athlone.
